Dr. Melissa Buchberg completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School and her residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. She completed her commitment in the US Navy in October 2013 after eight years of service as an OBGYN. She has moved back to the area with her husband and son to be closer to family and friends.

Dr. Buchberg enjoys caring for women throughout the span of their lives. She performs a wide range of procedures but especially enjoys prenatal care and delivering babies.

In her free time, Dr. Buchberg enjoys snowboarding, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Gynecological Exams

Professionalism is practiced every step in the process beginning with scheduling the appointment. From the time I walk into the office I'm greeted with a "good morning" and a smile. That's important because it sets the tone for the rest of the visit. I love the comfort of the waiting area. The nurse that greets me and takes me to the doctor's exam room is cheerful and pleasant; she's always helpful in answering my questions. And then Dr. Burchberg comes in and adds the icing on the cake because she is so pleasant and cheerful - she greets me in a way to let me know she's glad to see me and immediately asks how I'm doing and checks in with me to see how my I am as a person (mentally, socially, psyhcologically) before she starts the medical examination; I just love her spirit. Thank you all for the holistic approach to taking care of me.

Annual Well Woman Exam

Dr Buchberg provides complete answers to my questions in a professional and kind way. She tells me results of my tests and also lets me know if any future tests are needed or not. The exam is quick, to the point and more discussion. Then..."see you next year". I just have to be sure I call early enough to make an appointment because her schedule fills up fast.

I just love Dr. Buchberg. She’s kind and considerate and real. I’ve seen her for some years now and she always makes sure to address the important things for a woman my age. I know she probably does more with obstetrics but she always makes me feel like I matter too. She is always helpful in finding resources for some health issues I’ve had. She’s great!
