Dr. Steven Powers is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and has been practicing for more than 25 years. He enjoys all aspects of women’s health and caring for women in all stages of their lives.

Dr. Powers received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He then completed his internship and residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He is currently a preceptor with EVMS and Liberty University. He has previously served as Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, Va., and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Joint Boards of Nursing and Medicine Virginia Department of Health Professionals in Richmond, VA.

It was about a 5 minute visit to schedule another visit (ultrasound). It could save time taken off work to schedule the ultrasound altogether so not to have to take time off twice.

I am a Retired Nurse with a Masters Degree in Nurse with 28-years experience. I have dealt with a whole bunch of doctors in my career and on a personal level with my own health. Dr. Powers, is truly one-of-a-kind Physician. He has wonderful listening skills and is very compassionate and concerned about each of His Patients! I was Blessed the Day, I found Him. I left a physician who really did not care one thing about his patients. He was just going to work everyday and patient care had become nothing more than making a living and not helping his patients. BUT, NOT DR. POWERS! He cares!! He explains, everything to you and he ask questions that are very important related to the care he is seeing you for! He even is concerned about your other health care problems and is monitoring those along with the treatments he is providing; to make sure they are not complicating other health care issues. This man, just knows how to talk and treat women!! This is very HARD to find in this world today! A whole bunch of Physicians could learn some lessons from Dr. Powers! And, I enjoy his office staff and his nursing team or MA’s. He is just the right physician for me!

Dr Steve has actually saved my life several times and I believe in him and he has my best interest in mind. Cigna has changed the insurance policy and is no longer accepted by Total Care for Women, but because of Dr Steve’s medical training and care for his patients, I will continue to be his patient and pay out of pocket for his medical services.
