Dr. Zachary Wohlgemuth is originally from Norfolk, VA. He attended college at Florida State University graduating magna cum lade. He attended medical school at Ross University Medical School, graduating in 2015 with high honors. Wanting to come back home and work in the community he grew up in, he completed his residency training at Riverside Regional Medical Center where he served as chief resident and was awarded the best resident in Gyn surgery, Obstetrics and GYN Oncology his 4th year.

Dr. Wohlgemuth comes from a long line of physicians and is grateful for being able to learn from all of them. With both his parents in the medical field he has seen what it takes to be a compassionate and well-rounded physician. He chose OB/GYN as it is one of few specialties that allows long term patient relationships with office-based procedures as well as surgery. Dr. Wohlgemuth is the son of Dr. Holly Puritz who has been a member of The Group for Women for over 30 years. It has been extremely special to be able to learn and work alongside her after residency.

Dr. Wohlgemuth lives in Norfolk with his wife Dr. Allison Wohlgemuth and their twin boys Connor and Ethan. He enjoys spending time with family, cooking and is an avid golfer.

Lab Work

Dr. Zach has been working with me regain my reproductive health for about 3 years since I had an organ transplant. He is the absolute best obgyn I've had! My husband and I trust him very much and know that he has my best interest at heart. He has not only worked to help me regain my reproductive health, but he's also been in communication with my transplant team since the beginning and has worked with them regarding transplant/gynecological issues. I'm so happy for his career success and growth, but he will be very missed as an invaluable member of my healthcare team.
