Ilene Goldstein

Ilene Goldstein MD is privileged to offer a complete range of obstetric and gynecologic services to adolescents and adults in Hampton Roads. She joined Virginia Beach Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009 and offers services including well-woman evaluations, contraceptive counseling and management, medical and surgical management of gynecologic conditions including abnormal cervical cancer screening, abnormal bleeding, pelvic masses, endometriosis and menopause. Dr. Goldstein has a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery and is a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon. Dr. Goldstein also enjoys providing the complete management of pregnancy including management of infertility, preconception care, prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care. Since starting with VBOG, she has been involved with the development of the Adolescent Gynecology program as well as the successful SCOPE certification demonstrating a mastery of safety in the outpatient office setting.

Dr. Goldstein earned her Bachelors degree from Brandeis University and her Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, both in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she was recognized with honors in research and teaching, and was awarded the “Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures” from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in 2010. Dr. Goldstein currently holds a position on staff at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital where she provides obstetric and gynecologic services. She also holds staff privileges at Bon Secours Depaul Medical Center and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, where she primarily focuses on minimally invasive gynecology. Additionally, she performs minor gynecologic procedures at the Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Since her move from the big city, Dr. Goldstein has reinvented her love of all things beachy! She lives at the Oceanfront, and can often be found pedaling up and down the boardwalk, or walking in the surf with her husband, stepsons, and young daughter. She loves traveling in general, but especially on the east coast to visit friends and her growing family in Washington DC. She loves live music and is a novice baker. Her VBOG family is kind enough to taste-test her baked goods! Dr. Goldstein is looking forward to many more years providing care and creating special relationships with patients and families in Hampton Roads.
